When you think of an arch, you likely think of the classic golden arches in the McDonald’s logo, or the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France. A full arch of teeth, however, refers to the curved line of your smile that follows along your jaw! So losing a full arch of teeth means losing your entire smile. Most commonly, patients replace their smiles with traditional dentures that use their jawbone for support. Unfortunately, your jaw isn’t the best foundation, as tooth loss causes it to shrink over time. But with dental implants, you can replace a full arch of teeth securely to restore your smile!
Full Arch Dental Implants 101

Dental implants are titanium screws that we anchor in your jawbone to replace missing tooth roots. Not only do these screws provide a strong base for your denture restoration, but they also help prevent bone loss, keeping your jawbone healthy.
With a full arch of dental implants in place, you can secure a denture to your jaw to create a stable smile. But many patients worry about the discomfort that comes with having a mouth full of metal. Fortunately, the implants we use are small and minimally invasive. By using mini dental implants to restore your smile, we prioritize your comfort and healing!
These small titanium posts are about half the size of their conventional counterparts, allowing them to fit even in minimal bone. And with these implants in your jaw, you can restore your entire smile without worrying about the discomfort of full arch dental implant placement.
Placing a Full Arch of Implants
Placing a full arch of mini dental implants is relatively simple.
First, we begin with a free consultation. At Fine Dental Care, we believe that patients should have a complete understanding of what they’re getting into before starting treatment. This involves a comprehensive exam, 3D digital X-rays, and an assessment of your smile to determine whether you’re eligible for implants. Thankfully, mini implants are so small that most patients are eligible without trouble.
Then, we’ll take impressions of your smile to send to a dental lab. There, technicians will craft your custom denture, ensuring it fits perfectly in your mouth.
During your placement appointment, we use a local anesthetic to numb your teeth and gums. Once you’re comfortable, we create small pilot holes in your jaw and gently screw the implant in place. Because these implants are only one piece, we can place them in a single appointment. And once inside your jaw, mini implants immediately begin to stabilize, allowing us to secure your denture that very same day!
Afterwards, you may feel some discomfort or pain. But thanks to their minimally invasive placement, mini implants involve a relatively comfortable and quick-healing process.
Our Full Arch Implant Solutions!
At Fine Dental Care, we offer two full-arch dental implant dentures.
- A semi-removable roundhouse bridge: For patients who need dentures but are looking to enjoy a more secure solution, we recommend a roundhouse bridge. These restorations are similar to dentures in that they replace a full arch of teeth. However, this bridge is much sleeker, requiring a smaller denture base and looking more natural in your mouth. To place a semi-removable roundhouse bridge, we use 6 to 10 mini implants around your jaw. Then, once secure, you will never remove your restoration again, as only we will remove it during routine dental visits.
- A non-removable roundhouse bridge: Unlike a semi-removable restoration, a non-removable roundhouse bridge is cemented in place. To provide the incredible support these bridges offer, we use 10 to 12 mini implants in your jawbone. This keeps your prosthetic incredibly secure, allowing you to eat all the foods you love with confidence. Additionally, non-removable roundhouse bridges don’t need a denture base. Instead, your prosthetic mimics the natural appearance of your teeth and is secured directly to your implants.
