If no prescriptions were provided, you can take over-the-counter medications instead. Always adhere to the dosage instructions on the medication label and contact our office if you cannot manage the pain effectively.<\/li>\n<li>To alleviate swelling, apply a cold compress intermittently for 20 minutes. Repeat this procedure as necessary for the next 6 to 8 hours.<\/li>\n<li>When you begin eating and drinking again, avoid chewing on the treated area until the permanent restoration has been completed.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly brush and floss the treated area gently to keep it clean.<\/li>\n<li>It is typical to experience some discomfort for several days after treatment. The tooth and gums might remain sensitive for a few weeks after treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Continue your regular brushing and flossing routine unless advised differently by our office.. Follow any additional instructions and take all prescribed medications as directed.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s important to schedule an appointment with our office within a month to have a permanent <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.finedentalcare.com\/services\/dental-crowns-in-wayne-nj\/\">crown<\/a><\/strong> or <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.finedentalcare.com\/services\/dental-fillings-in-wayne-nj\/\">filling<\/a> <\/strong>installed. This will help minimize the risk of the temporary restoration breaking or decay forming in the treated area.
