The American Dental Association recommends having your teeth cleaned twice yearly (or every six months) to achieve and maintain optimal oral health and wellness.
For most insured dental patients, the answer is yes. Basic preventive care, such as checkups and cleanings, is covered up to 100%. In-depth periodontal cleanings (also called “deep cleanings”’) may be covered in part from 50% to 80%, depending on your insurance plan. Our team will be sure to confirm your benefits and help you understand your coverage to make the most of the benefits you’re owed.
It’s recommended that you begin bringing your child to the dentist by their first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth coming in. However, we believe that until children are ready, it’s best not to force their first appointment on them! The key to that is getting them to feel comfortable in our office before they have their first checkup. We can make their first experience positive, making all the difference for them later on!
We recommend bi-annual check-ups for most healthy patients. If you have a history of dental problems, we may recommend more frequent visits until your smile’s health is restored back to its optimal levels.
Dental cleanings should never cause you discomfort or pain. Our dental hygienists are trained to perform gentle yet thorough cleanings. Patients living with tooth decay, inflamed gums, and other dental issues may experience increased sensitivity during their cleaning. However, our team is dedicated to your comfort and well-being at all times and will work to make your experience as painless as possible.
